FAO/Alessandra Benedetti

Institute TECHINFORMI of the Georgian Technical University, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), will conduct an online workshop on Friday 29 July at 12.00 CEST.

Titled “FAIR Data Principles and FAO AGRIS Open Data Sets. Visibility of the Agricultural Scientific Data of Georgia", the workshop is designed for researchers, young scientists and extensions groups in the field of agriculture. The workshop aims to increase awareness about open science in agriculture and train researchers and practitioners on new trends in agricultural research

AGRIS is a free-to-use global multilingual database that provides free access to approximately 14 million bibliographic records, including over 1,500 data sets, in more than 90 languages.

Institute TECHINFORMI, the AGRIS Country Hub in Georgia, regularly places bibliographic records (publications, conference materials, monographs, researches, etc.) in the AGRIS database. Moreover, TECHINFORMI is the only provider of Georgian terms to the AGROVOC thesaurus.

The meeting will be presented and guided by Dr. Nelly Makhviladze and Dr. Marina Razmadze. Members of the team behind AGRIS will share their practical knowledge and skills.

The Institute TECHINFORMI will also assist with registration in AGRIS as a new data provider.

The main part of the training will be provided in Georgian.
