The FAO AGRIS Seal of Recognition 2027 recognizes institutions that actively contribute to the FAO AGRIS network by sharing research metadata and helping make agricultural knowledge more visible, discoverable and accessible worldwide. The Seal aims to acknowledge these contributions and highlight the role of participating institutions in strengthening the global exchange of agricultural knowledge. Among the institutions recently recognized is the Amhara Agricultural Research Institute (ARARI) in Ethiopia.

As Hailu Kendie Addis, Senior Researcher in Soil and Water Management at ARARI, explains how FAO AGRIS and the Seal of Recognition have supported ARARI in increasing the visibility and accessibility of its agricultural research.

“FAO AGRIS has played a pivotal role in helping Amhara Agricultural Research Institute (ARARI) move beyond local repositories and bring our research outputs to the global stage. Through the FAO AGRIS network, our agricultural knowledge is more visible and accessible to researchers, policymakers, and practitioners worldwide, extending the reach and impact of our research and strengthening our contribution to food security and sustainable agriculture in Ethiopia and beyond.”

For ARARI, the Seal also represents a visible commitment to contributing to a more connected agricultural knowledge ecosystem.

“The FAO AGRIS Seal of Recognition is a meaningful testament to ARARI’s commitment to open access, knowledge sharing, and making agricultural research more discoverable and accessible to the global community. We are proud to be part of this important international network and to contribute to the global exchange of agricultural knowledge”.

The Seal of Recognition gives active data providers a visible way to show their participation in the FAO AGRIS network. By displaying the Seal on their websites and digital platforms, institutions can highlight their contribution while increasing awareness of their research outputs and their connection to a global network working to make agricultural research more discoverable and accessible.
