The International System for Agricultural Science and Technology (AGRIS), managed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), welcomes Aga Khan University (AKU) from Pakistan. Founded in 1983 as Pakistan's first private university, AKU is dedicated to improving the quality of life worldwide through cutting-edge teaching, research, and healthcare. AKU has expanded its reach across multiple countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Afghanistan, and the United Kingdom.

AKU contributes 83 records to AGRIS, spanning key thematic areas such as agriculture, environmental science, sustainability, climate change, food science, and disease surveillance. Their work reflects a commitment to addressing the critical challenges that affect farmers and communities globally.

The university's recent publications include studies on university-led sustainability initiatives like decarbonization plans and environmental practices, showcasing AKU’s commitment to climate action. Additionally, its research explores innovative applications of technology and machine learning in agriculture, as well as socio-environmental topics including farmer livelihoods and pandemic-related disease monitoring.
