FAO AGRIS is pleased to welcome a diverse group of new institutions whose contributions strengthen the global exchange of agricultural knowledge, research, and innovation. Their inclusion reflects the breadth of scientific expertise and regional perspectives that make the FAO AGRIS Network a shared space for evidence-based research and collaboration.

In the Caribbean, the Asociación de Técnicos Azucareros de Cuba, one of the oldest professional organizations in Cuba, adds nearly a century of expertise in sugar agro-industrial science and technology, advancing applied research with deep historical and sectoral relevance.

From Ethiopia, the Amhara Agricultural Research Institute joins as a key regional research body dedicated to improving productivity, resilience, and sustainability across crop, livestock, forestry, and soil and water management systems. Its applied, demand-driven research supports food security and rural development in Ethiopia.

In Latin America, the Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) contributes a legacy dating back to 1910, rooted in the foundations of agricultural education in Brazil and spanning agriculture, veterinary sciences, and rural development.

From the Middle East, Lorestan University (Islamic Republic of Iran) brings longstanding academic excellence across agricultural sciences, engineering, and social sciences. Established in 1977 and based in Khorramabad, the University contributes research rooted in sustainability, regional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

From the Russian Federation, VIC Animal Health contributes through its long-standing journal Agrarian Science, highlighting research in crop production, livestock, veterinary medicine, and agricultural technologies. Also joining is the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing, Russia's leading breeding institution with over a century of work in vegetable crop research and seed production.

In Asia, Hainan University (China) strengthens FAO AGRIS with research linked to tropical agriculture and multidisciplinary sciences, while the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences (China) contributes applied research and innovation supporting modern agriculture and forestry systems.

From Africa's Great Lakes region, the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (Rwanda) joins with a commitment to higher education, research, and community engagement since its establishment in 1997.

Together, these institutions enrich FAO AGRIS with geographically diverse, high-quality research. Their participation reinforces the Networks role as a trusted, interoperable platform connecting agricultural knowledge to global research, policy, and practice.
