FAO in Armenia
The Republic of Armenia joined the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1993, and the FAO Representation Office in Armenia was established in 2004. Since then, Armenia and FAO have worked closely to implement development initiatives that enhance agricultural productivity, strengthen food security, and support resilient rural livelihoods.
Working alongside government ministries, academic institutions, and the private sector, FAO helps advance sustainable development, safeguard natural resources, and drive the transformation of agrifood systems. Its support spans the full spectrum of the agricultural sector: crop production, livestock, forestry, and fisheries - focusing on building national capacities and promoting long-term, sustainable economic growth.
