At the Twentieth Regular Session, the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (Commission) requested the Secretariat to convene, subject to the availability of funds, a global multistakeholder workshop on climate change and genetic resources for food and agriculture with the aims of:
- exchanging information and experiences;
- considering the need for revising the Voluntary Guidelines to Support the Integration of Genetic Diversity into National Climate Change Adaptation Planning in light of the revised baseline report; and
- discussing a set of questions related to climate change for inclusion in all state-of-the-world country reporting questionnaires.
The workshop will be:
- open to all Members of the Commission and relevant stakeholders;
- attended by at least one representative per region of each of the Working Groups to be nominated through the Bureau of the Commission; and
- webcast.
The global multistakeholder workshop will be held in English, French and Spanish.
