Following the 2023−2024 El Niño event and the current El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) neutral state, La Niña (ENSO cool phase) is anticipated to come into effect between September and November with probabilities ranging from 55 to 71 percent, and is expected to persist through January to March 2025.
