Country Programming Framework (CPF)
FAO Eswatini's CPF 2022 - 2025 sets out three priority areas that guide FAO's partnership with and support to the Government of Eswatini. These areas combine innovative international good practices and global standards with national and regional expertise.
Environment and systems for enabling the business of agriculture and inclusive gender-responsive food system transformation.
Priority 1 focuses on supporting the Government of Eswatini to create an environment and appropriate systems for all forms of agricultural activities to thrive and be profitable. It focuses on making it easier for value chain players (farmers big and small, processors, transporters, MSMSE in the sector) to operate their businesses, by reducing identifying regulatory and systemic obstacles to market integration and entrepreneurship in agriculture.
Inclusive, broad-based participation and partnerships in agricultural value chain development
Priority 2 focuses on supporting government and agricultural sector players in planning and creating concrete smallholder inclusive and public-private partnerships defined along each agricultural value chain, which will increase investment in the agricultural sector. The goal is to empower these key stakeholders by providing them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to effectively engage in agricultural activities, enhance their productivity, and contribute to sustainable agricultural practices.
Sustainable Management of Natural Resources, climate action, resilience building and environmental sustainability
Priority 3 focuses on systems for gender-responsive management of natural resources, environment and climate change mitigation including disaster management and making systems more resilient. It also involves ensuring that stakeholders and communities, including women and youth, have a comprehensive understanding of, appreciation for, and adoption of adaptive models.
