The Agricultural Outlook 2018-2027 is a collaborative effort of the OECD and FAO prepared with input from the experts of their member governments and from specialist commodity organisations. It provides a consensus assessment of the medium term (ten year) prospects for agricultural and fish commodity markets at national, regional and global levels.

The Voluntary Guidelines for Sustainable Soil Management (VGSSM) were adopted by the 4th GSP Plenary Assembly (Rome, 25 May 2016), approved by the 25th session of the FAO Committee on Agriculture (Rome, 28 September 2016) and finally endorsed by the 155th session of the FAO Council (Rome, 5 December 2016). These guidelines provide technical and policy recommendations on how sustainable soil management can be achieved.

The purpose of this book is to recount the Organization’s history, its mission and its day-to-day work in achieving its mandate: to eradicate hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition worldwide; eliminate rural poverty; promote the sustainable use of natural resources and encourage the development of more efficient and inclusive agricultural and food systems, through the definition of agreements and standards.

This activity book for children discusses, in an educational and engaging way, why people are migrating today and how we can give them the choice to stay at home, if it’s safe to do so. The illustrations show how FAO is giving these people more choices, and how the Zero Hunger goal is connected to migration.

his book tells the story of the historic events that shaped the Library of FAO. It starts with the International Institute of Agriculture (IIA), the predecessor of FAO, founded in 1905 in Rome by King Vittorio Emanuele III upon the initiative of David Lubin. When FAO was founded in 1945 it was quickly decided that it should become the custodian of the IIA and its Library, which at that time was one of the largest agricultural research collections in the world.
