Координационный комитет Кодекса по Азии (CCASIA), региональный координатор – Китай
Координационный комитет по Азии был учрежден на11-й сессии Комиссии “Кодекс Алиментариус” проходившей в Риме (Италия) в июле 1976 года. Первое заседание Комитета состоялось в Нью-Дели (Индия) в январе 1977 года.
Региональный координатор ведет свою работу на базе Китайского национального центра оценки рисков безопасности пищевых продуктов.
Среди основных приоритетов Китая в качестве координатора следует выделить расширение участия в заседаниях Кодекса, обеспечение приоритета деятельности Кодекса в регионе, совершенствование согласования стандартов безопасности пищевых продуктов и ускоренное возобновление полноценной работы координационного комитета за счет обмена данными и регулярного предоставления новой информации по безопасности пищевых продуктов в регионе.
Китай также стремится укрепить сотрудничество с организациями-наблюдателями и наладить эффективную и действенную связь между Секретариатом Кодекса и региональными членами ФАО и ВОЗ.

Food Safety Works, a food quality and safety consultancy company in India, will observe World Food Safety Day by conducting various activities in the week of 6 to 10 June.

Join the World Food Safety Day events in Mongolia: Webinar on antimicrobial resistance and dance challenge

World Food Safety Day event for the Asia and Pacific region
For World Food Safety Day this year, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) will team up with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Food Programme (WFP) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) for a webinar for Asia and the Pacific on the theme of “Multisectoral actions for food safety in the Asia-Pacific Region”.

China’s Henan Zhonglu Import and Export Trading Company to hold ‘Douyin’ video contest for World Food Safety Day
The Henan Zhonglu Import and Export Trading Company will hold a Douyin video contest for World Food Safety, with prizes available for the winners. Douyin is a Chinese language short-form mobile video platform.
The contest aims to encourage collaboration in integrating food safety practices into people’s daily lives, and to deepen public understanding of food safety.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan (MHLW) has translated the World Food Safety Day guide into Japanese to raise awareness about the UN international Day and about the importance of food safety in Japan.

Stakeholders in food and agriculture meet to evaluate implementation progress of Cambodia’s Antimicrobial Resistance
Cambodia is actively engaged in adopting the CODEX AMR standards to support the containment and reduction of foodborne antimicrobial resistance, and it is one of six countries to join the AMR Codex Texts (ACT) project. A range of stakeholders, including the government, farmers, academia and the private sector convened a workshop in Siem Reap from 16 to 18 May 2022 to review the national efforts to contain AMR.

Korea celebrates its 21st Food Safety Day
To raise awareness of the importance of ensuring food safety, on 13 May 2022, the Republic of Korea celebrated its Food Safety Day with the slogan “Food Safety Together, Healthy Korea.” The country started this campaign in 2002, and this year marked the 21st celebration with a hybrid event that included in-person participation as well as a broadcast on YouTube.

The Japan Food Safety Management Association gives lessons on the "Five Keys to Safer Food"
On 27 April, Masanori Kotani, Secretary General of Japan’s Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) delivered a lecture on food safety and the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) “5 keys to safer food” to second- and third-year students at Hokkaido Shizunai Agricultural High School.

Mongolia issues decree to reorganize National Codex Committee
On 22 March 2022, the Minister for food, agriculture and light industry of Mongolia issued a decree on the reorganization of the National Codex Committee. This legislation is acknowledgement by the Government of Mongolia of the role the Codex committee can play through its primary function of providing advice on the implications of a range of food standardization and safety issues.
