لجنة التنسيق للدستور الغذائي في أمريكا اللاتينية والبحر الكاريبي - المنسق الإقليمي أوروغواي
في عام 1976، عقدت لجنة التنسيق لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في أمريكا اللاتينية، التي أسستها الدورة العاشرة لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في عام 1974، اجتماعها الأول في روما بحضور ثمانية بلدان من المنطقة. وقد تم تقديم مُقترح في دورتها الثالثة لتغيير اسم اللجنة إلى شكلها الحالي (لجنة التنسيق لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في أمريكا اللاتينية ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي) لأن هذا المسمى يعكس بشكل أفضل عضوية المنطقة. وعليه، وافقت اللجنة التنفيذية في جلستها الحادية والثلاثين التي عُقدت عام 1984 على هذا التغيير وذلك بالنيابة عن هيئة الدستور الغذائي.
وتعتبر منطقة أمريكا اللاتينية والبحر الكاريبي جهة فاعلة هامة في إنتاج وتجارة الأغذية على المستوى العالمي. وتنتج المنطقة ما يكفي من الغذاء لإمداد نفسها والتصدير، حيث تسمح موارد المياه والأرض بالمزيد من الإنتاج.
وتتمتع المنطقة بثروة طبيعية هائلة، وصناعة زراعية مزدهرة، وقطاع زراعي عائلي يخدم سكانها. ويجب مواصلة تعزيز وتقوية سلامة الأغذية على مستوى جميع المناطق لضمان صحة المستهلكين والتجارة العادلة والمنصفة.
ويقع مقر المنسق، الإكوادور، في AGROCALIDAD وهي وكالة ملحقة بوزارة الزراعة والثروة الحيوانية. وتهدف إلى خلق تآزر بين دول المنطقة، لتقديم الدعم المتبادل من أجل التغلب على المشاكل الإقليمية ودراسة الحلول للتحديات المشتركة.
ويهدف المنسق كذلك إلى تعزيز التعاون بين البلدان وتعزيز مشاركة البلدان النامية في هيئة الدستور الغذائي ولجانها الفرعية.

World Food Safety Day / Ecuador authorities hold a seminar and a run for food safety
On 4 June, together with the InterAmerican Institute for Agricultural Cooperation (IICA) in Ecuador, Agrocalidad, Ecuador’s Agency for Phytosanitary Regulation and Control, held its 9th Food Safety Seminar, titled: Science in Action, promoting the creation of Ecuador’s Food Safety Risk Analysis Committee.
This event attracted more than 250 participants, including students, agricultural producers and the public sector.

World Food Safety Day / Multiagency event planned for Latin America and the Caribbean region

Via Rovigo Indústria, Comércio e Distribuição de Produtos Alimentícios S.A. / Pot of Foods, a food distribution company located in São Paulo, Brazil, celebrated World Food Safety Day 2025 with a dedicated Food Safety Week, held 3– 6 June, under the global theme “Science in Action.”

World Food Safety Day / Peru university issues call for papers
The Institute of Food Quality, Safety, and Security at the Ricardo Palma University in Peru has issued a call for papers and scientifically reviewed posters on the central theme of “Innovative scientific, technological, and other applications to ensure food safety for humans and animals”. World Food Safety Day / Students in Peru spread food safety awareness

World Food Safety Day / Peru authorities hold two-day event
Peru’s national food safety authorities – General Directorate of Environmental Health and Food Safety (DIGESA), National Fisheries Health Organization (SANIPES) and National Service of Agrarian Health (SENASA) – jointly organized a two-day to celebrate World Food Safety Day. World Food Safety Day / Peru exporting company to celebrate with dance and product tasting
The agro-exporting company Danper Trujillo SAC is organizing an event on the occasion of World Food Safety Day, called “World Food Safety Day - Danper in Action”.
