The High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE-FSN) produces the report “Strengthening urban and peri-urban food systems to achieve food security and nutrition in the context of urbanization and rural transformation”, at the request of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS). The HLPE-FSN report will be presented at the 52nd plenary session of the CFS in October 2024. With this e-consultation, the HLPE-FSN is seeking your feedback on the proposed scope of this report.

Reducir las desigualdades para la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición - Consulta del GANESAN sobre el alcance del informe
Durante su 46ª sesión plenaria, el Comité de Seguridad Alimentaria Mundial (CSA) aprobó su Programa de Trabajo cuatrienal, que incluye una petición a su Grupo de alto nivel de expertos en seguridad alimentaria y nutrición (GANESAN) para que elabore un informe sobre “Reducir las desigualdades para la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición”, que se presentará en la 51ª sesión plenaria del CSA en octubre de 2023. Para implementar esta solicitud del CSA, el GANESAN está poniendo en marcha una consulta electrónica abierta para recabar opiniones y comentarios sobre el alcance y elementos fundamentales del informe.

Webinar: Climate change, peace and food security. A holistic approach for a sustainable future
Disruptive weather patterns and climate change have a direct bearing on global food security, so a better understanding of such complex systems is crucial to fighting hunger and poverty.
During the virtual event "Climate change, peace and food security. A holistic approach for a sustainable future", the 2021 Nobel Laureate in Physics, Giorgio Parisi, will be invited to join the FAO Nobel Laureates Alliance for Food Security and Peace and will deliver a lecture entitled: "Science: the headlight on our future".
Parisi was awarded the Nobel prize for "the discovery of the interplay of disorder and fluctuations in physical systems from atomic to planetary scales".
The event will be opened by the Director-General, with interventions from Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, and Muhammad Yunus, 2006 Nobel Peace Laureate.

Herramientas de recopilación y análisis de datos para la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición - Consulta electrónico sobre el borrador V0 del informe propuesta por el Comité Directivo del HLPE y el equipo del proyecto
Durante su 46º período de sesiones plenarias, el Comité de Seguridad Alimentaria Mundial (CSA) adoptó su Programa de trabajo cuatrienal (PTPA 2020-2023), que incluye una solicitud al Grupo de alto nivel de expertos en Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutrición (HLPE, por sus siglas en inglés) para que elabore un informe sobre “Herramientas de recopilación y análisis de datos” para la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición. Para implementar esta solicitud del CSA, el Grupo de alto nivel de expertos está lanzando una consulta electrónica abierta para solicitar opiniones y comentarios sobre el borrador V0 del informe.
