I am working on:
I am currently engaged in strategic research in the field of economic development, with a focus on sustainable food security and international cooperation. My work centers on large-scale agricultural initiatives across the Middle East, including the “Arouba” project in Syria, which aims to cultivate over 1.15 million hectares using center-pivot irrigation, as a response to the country’s wheat shortages.
However, I still need to incorporate additional environmental dimensions to fully assess the project’s feasibility—particularly its long-term impact on natural resources, soil sustainability, and water availability.
I am also working on a national coffee revitalization program in Yemen, which aims to achieve a production target of 51,000 tons of high-quality coffee. The program includes the development of a comprehensive policy framework to enhance the coffee value chain by improving productivity, achieving economies of scale, and supporting Yemen’s transition toward a resilient and inclusive economy.
It also contributes to closing the food insecurity gap through the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices and the creation of approximately 33,000 sustainable rural jobs.
Through these efforts, I focus on exploring the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of coffee sector development, including water sustainability, seed quality improvement, value chain integration, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I am particularly committed to building regional resilience and fostering cross-border technical cooperation to develop more inclusive and sustainable food systems.
I'm interested in the field of economic development research, focusing on addressing food insecurity and enhancing opportunities for international cooperation
