Technical Roadmap on Agriculture, Biodiversity and Food Security: from Commitments to Actions

The Technical Roadmap offers concrete recommendations that can be integrated into the strategies and actions of your respective organizations. These recommendations aim to strengthen our collective advocacy for shared actions to promote sustainable agriculture, preserve biodiversity, and ensure food security for all.

The document was developed on the basis of the many experiences shared before and during the international Symposium “Agriculture, Biodiversity and Food Security: From Commitments to Actions” held in Canada from April 30 to May 2, 2024. The event was co-organised by Université Laval's Graduate School of International Studies (ESEI), the Quebec government's ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie (MRIF), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The 128 contributions collected during the Call for Experiences, Good Practices and Scalable Solutions for Mainstreaming Biodiversity in Agriculture on FAO’s Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN Forum) covered 67 countries and all the regions of the world. This call was organized for the FAO’s Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment.

The symposium was addressed by 67 speakers, who discussed and shared their experiences during round tables and working sessions on the key agriculture related targets of the KM GBF.
