This year, the joint observance of World Bee Day and the International Day for Biological Diversity took place at the Geneva Botanical Garden. Organized by FAO, the Conservatory and Botanical Garden of the City of Geneva, the Permanent Mission of Slovenia, the Permanent Mission of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of Switzerland, and the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), the event brought together Permanent Representatives, UN officials, experts, and local partners to celebrate the essential role of bees and other pollinators in maintaining healthy ecosystems and supporting food security.

This edition of the FAO in Geneva Fisheries Trade Talks, organized in collaboration with FAO's Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, served as an information session on the FAO's Sub-Committee on Fish Trade. FAO Sub-Committee on Fish Trade, being amongst FAO's governing bodies and in short known as COFI:FT, functions as a platform for discussions among FAO Members about the technical and economic dimensions of international trade in fisheries and aquaculture products, encompassing relevant elements of production and consumption.
