Develop Forest Reference Emissions Levels (FREL)

Introduction Over the next three years, Peru will have calculated forest reference emission level (FREL) projections of current trends and future reductions scenarios. SilvaCarbon will provide technical advice to the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM) to further develop the national FREL along with capacity-building to produce these estimates in-house for Peru.

Objective / Goal Over the next three years, Peru will have calculated forest reference emission level (FREL) projections of current trends and future reductions scenarios. SilvaCarbon will provide technical advice to the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM) to further develop the national FREL along with capacity-building to produce these estimates in-house for Peru. This activity will complement support provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Peru Amazonia Verde project under the forthcoming Peruvian Low Emissions Development Strategies (LEDS) activity, to support the government in meeting its national and international reporting and updates.
