DescriptionSigned a memorandum of understanding with Viet Nam, giving the Philippines the option to import 1.5-2.0 million tonnes of white rice per year, for five years. Among other areas of cooperation, provisions under the deal would also include joint efforts to thwart unofficial trade in rice and advance consultations on measures that could restrict, hinder or delay rice exports.
