Ministers from eight Alpine countries will meet for the XIII. Alpine Conference to discuss the most pressing Alpine-related issues and decide the future work on the protection and development of the Alpine territory. The meeting will be presided by the Italian Minister of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea, Gian Luca Galletti.
The main issues on the agenda include:
Climate Change and Energy
Demography and Employment in the Alps
EU Macro-regional strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP)
Compliance Committee
EXPO2015
The programme of the German Presidency of the Alpine Convention for the period 2015-2016
The Alpine Convention is an international treaty between the Alpine countries (Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Slovenia and Switzerland) as well as the EU, aimed at promoting sustainable development in the Alpine area.
