Fundación Agreste primarily focus its activities on the conservation and sustainable use of resources in fragile ecosystems, such as drylands and mountains. It has three main goals: to stimulate and support effective participation in environmental care; to assist initiatives aimed at widening opportunities for sustainable development in vulnerable communities; and to encourage the creation and growth of civil society organizations in public and political advocacy processes. In 2013, the Mountain Partnership elected Fundación Agreste to the Steering Committee to represent the civil society electoral group in the South America region for the four-year period, 2014-2017.
