Founded in 1980, Nepal Dairy is a pioneer in Nepal’s dairy sector. It processes approximately 15 000 to 20 000 litres of raw milk per day, sourced from over 4 000 farmers through 18 milk cooperatives located in the Terai region. Nepal Dairy produces a wide range of dairy products, including pasteurized milk in pouches, yoghurt, cottage cheese, cream, butter, ghee (clarified butter), ice cream, mozzarella cheese, and various dairy-based sweets. These products are marketed in the Kathmandu Valley and major cities across Nepal. ND has also established a cheese factory in Chitre, Terhathum District, in collaboration with other dairy industries and local entrepreneurs. Additionally, it is directly involved in the production of yak cheese in Phalut, Panchthar District, through a partnership with local yak herders.
