Founded in 1986, the "Société d'Economie Mixte Tignes Developpement" brings together the marketing and economic development departments of ski resorts from around the tourism industry. Tignes Developpement is a private-public company in charge of promoting, marketing and entertaining the Tignes ski resort by providing a number of services, such as: a customer service centre (tourist information, aquatic area, lakes, carpark, cinema); a sports, leisure and events centre (outdoor sports, sports and congress centre); and a marketing department (booking centre, incoming agency, promotion, communications, public relations). Alongside the Tignes city council and ski lift companies, Tignes Developpement runs the ski resort and maintains a constant development of its mountain city. Being one of the major ski resorts in Europe, Tignes Developpement is interesting in sharing its knowledge of managing the impacts on the local ecology, economy and population, also in the context of climate change, with others.
