The global indicator on water-use efficiency measures the extent to which a country's economic growth relies on water resources. It enables policymakers and decision-makers to identify sectors with high water consumption and low efficiency improvements, allowing for targeted interventions to enhance sustainability. This indicator specifically addresses the economic dimension of SDG Target 6.4. This report provides insights into global and country-level progress on water-use efficiency.
