Cairo Water Week 2024 is set to take place from October 13 to 17, 2024, at the Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo, under the theme “Water and Climate: Building Resilient Communities.” This significant event aims to address sustainable water management challenges in the Near East and North Africa (NENA) region. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will be leading several key sessions under the FAO track program which will highlight the following themes:
- Technologies for Sustainable Water Management
- This theme will explore innovative technologies that can improve water management practices, ensuring sustainability and efficiency in water use.
- Enhancing Water Resilience Using a Data-Driven Approach
- Emphasis will be placed on utilizing data analytics to strengthen water resilience, enabling better decision-making and resource allocation in response to climate variability.
- Multidimensional Approaches Towards Enhancing Water Planning
- This involves integrating various methodologies and indicators to create comprehensive water planning frameworks that address multiple facets of water management.
- Advancing Water Resilience and Management in the NENA Region
- Discussions will focus on strategies tailored to the unique challenges faced by the NENA region, promoting adaptive management practices.
- Promoting Innovative Strategic Orientations for Advancing Science-Based Decision Making in Desalination for Agriculture Development (DAD)
- This theme aims to encourage the application of scientific research in desalination processes, particularly for agricultural development, ensuring that decisions are informed by robust data and innovative practices.
These themes reflect a commitment to addressing the pressing water challenges in the region through collaborative efforts and strategic innovations.
