iRTP-WS Booth at Cairo Water Week 2025 : A hub for innovation, dialogue and partnership
The participation of the FAO Inter-Regional Technical Platform on Water Scarcity (iRTP-WS) in Cairo Water Week 2025 was marked by a dedicated booth within the exhibition area, a space for technical exchange, dialogue and visibility. Throughout the week, the booth served as a meeting point for experts, policymakers, researchers and development partners to explore the Platform’s vision, achievements and knowledge products promoting sustainable water management across regions.
Each day featured a structured program of activities including presentations, interactive discussions and bilateral meetings. Daily highlight sessions introduced visitors to the iRTP-WS mandate, its five Solution Packages and the main results achieved under the 2024–2025 biennium. These sessions attracted a wide audience of technical experts, government officials and young professionals, generating constructive dialogue through open Q&A exchanges and knowledge sharing.
The booth also welcomed high-level visitors and senior representatives from research institutions, regional organizations and development partners. Among them were delegations from SIDA, the European Union, the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and the Water Institute. These interactions provided opportunities to present iRTP-WS achievements, discuss ongoing collaborations and identify new areas for partnership within the Platform’s framework.
In parallel, a series of bilateral meetings were organized. These exchanges helped reinforce inter-regional coordination and gather valuable inputs to guide the next biennium’s workplan. Dedicated partner engagement sessions also offered a platform for partners to present their initiatives, highlighting how iRTP-WS adds value by promoting integrated, cross-sectoral solutions to water scarcity.
