Launch of FAO’s strategic publications for SIDS, LDCs and LLDCs

10 April 2026 | from 14:00 to 16:30 (CEST)

Hybrid event: Sheikh Zayed Center B013 (FAO headquarters)

Join us for the launch of the report on FAO’s Work in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) 2025 and the FAO Action Plan 2026–2027 on Supporting Agrifood Systems Transformation in SIDS, LDCs and LLDCs. Together, these products represent a cornerstone of FAO’s renewed commitment to accelerating the transformation of agrifood systems in the world’s most vulnerable contexts.

This event will convene Permanent Representatives of FAO Members, FAO leadership and technical experts from headquarters and decentralized offices, as well as personnel from partner organizations.

The programme will include opening remarks by FAO Director-General; the presentation of both documents by the Director of the FAO Office of SIDS, LDCs and LLDCs; a panel discussion with Permanent Representatives and FAO experts to take stock of progress, explore FAO’s structured programmatic approach and contribute to shaping future strategies to transform agrifood systems in SIDS, LDCs and LLDCs; and closing remarks by the FAO Chief Economist.

Participants will engage in a forward-looking dialogue on key findings, priority areas and pathways for action.

Coffee and refreshments will be available at the closure of the event.
