As of December 2025, the FAM Catalogue contained 1 542 surveys and 561 388 variables and had recorded 79 000 visitors and 7 889 licensed data requests. Its collections span agricultural surveys and censuses, food security, nutrition, emergency monitoring and other areas, including a dedicated Forest Inventory Data collection.

The latest study from the Food Systems Countdown Initiative (FSCI) reveals the stark reality of where global food systems transformation stands: For most indicators on health, environment, livelihoods, governance and resilience, a vast majority of countries will not meet the internationally agreed 2030 goals. And for some indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions from food systems, no country in the world is projected to meet the target.

The benchmark measure of world food commodity prices edged up in July, as recent heatwaves and energy price dynamics pushed up quotations for cereals, vegetable oils and sugar, according to new data released Friday by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

La Escala de Experiencia de Inseguridad Alimentaria (FIES), desarrollada por la FAO, permite medir de manera directa el acceso económico y físico de las personas a los alimentos a partir de sus propias experiencias, entregando información clave para diseñar políticas públicas más eficaces en la lucha contra el hambre.

El hambre en el mundo disminuyó por tercer año consecutivo en 2025, lo que demuestra que es posible avanzar. Sin embargo, las mejoras siguen siendo frágiles, están distribuidas de manera desigual y son insuficientes para alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible para 2030, según el informe El estado de la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición en el mundo 2026 (SOFI 2026), publicado este martes por cinco organismos especializados de las Naciones Unidas.

El Sr. QU Dongyu, Director General de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO), afirmó el martes en la presentación de la edición de 2026 del informe El estado de la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición en el mundo (SOFI) que tres años consecutivos de progresos en la reducción del hambre a escala mundial demuestran que el hambre no es inevitable.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) placed food security, livelihoods and sustainable agrifood systems at the forefront of the global artificial intelligence (AI) for sustainable development agenda, calling for an inclusive, responsible and development-oriented digital transformation, during the high-level week of meetings and discussions held in Geneva from 6-10 July: the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, the AI for Good Global Summit and the first ever Global Dialogue on AI Governance.

A new FAO reporting process will enable countries to update key forest data more frequently, strengthening the information needed to guide climate, biodiversity and sustainable forest management policies across Latin America.
