The Census of Agriculture Cambodia 2023​ was launched this morning, May 19. The data generated by the census is expected to become a key driver in enabling the government and all relevant partners to develop effective plans for advancing Cambodia's agriculture sector.  Con la participación de representantes del Gobierno, la academia, organismos internacionales, sociedad civil y expertos sectoriales, se celebró en Santo Domingo el Taller Nacional de Adopción y Adaptación de la Iniciativa Cuenta Atrás de los Sistemas Alimentarios (FSCI), una jornada de tres días orientada a construir un sistema nacional de monitoreo que guíe la transformación de los sistemas agroalimentarios hacia un modelo más sostenible, equitativo y resiliente.

Agriculture is a cornerstone of Viet Nam’s economy, employing tens of millions, contributing significantly to the national GDP, and ensuring food security and rural livelihoods. However, traditional farming practices and limited access to real-time data, constrain productivity, climate resilience, and resource efficiency. As digital technologies reshape global agrifood systems, Viet Nam stands at a critical juncture to leverage data-driven decision-making to enhance its agricultural sector. 

Cambodia accelerated the digital transformation of its agricultural sector through a high-level workshop and training in Phnom Penh, where policymakers, experts and development partners showcased AI, satellite data and digital systems to modernize farming, enhance climate resilience and drive sustainable, data-driven growth.
