Forests for livelihoods, climate and biodiversity

The high-level panel starting, co-organized with the French Presidency of the EU Council, is centered on the multifunctional role of forests and their importance to address many of societies’ current crises. The discussions will be aimed at identifying combined demand-side and supply-side measures to address deforestation and promote sustainable agrifood systems. The expected outcome of the event is to maintain high-level momentum on addressing trade-offs and reinforcing synergies between agriculture and forests.
