Malnutrition in all its forms (undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies and overnutrition) places an intolerable burden on individuals and communities as well as on the cultural, social, economic and health fabric of nations. The Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2), an inclusive inter-governmental meeting on nutrition jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), will be held at FAO Headquarters, in Rome, from 19 to 21 November 2014. Recognizing the need to involve non-state actors in the preparations leading to the Conference, FAO Members have agreed to convene an Informal Meeting to provide an inclusive forum for non-state actors to exchange views with the Membership on ICN2.
