High-level Launch Event for the FAO Regional Knowledge Platform on One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) for Asia and the Pacific

Countries in the Asia-Pacific region has rich experience in Special Agricultural Products development and expressed strong desire to share knowledge. By mobilizing existing knowledge, expertise and best practices from the Asia-Pacific region and fostering dialogue, learning and collaboration among a diverse array of stakeholders, the FAO Regional Platform on OCOP aims to promote technical and institutional innovations that strengthen the sustainable development of Special Agricultural Products. Through knowledge sharing on best practices and innovations such as Geographical Indications (GI), One Village One Products (OVOP) and other approaches, the Regional Platform on OCOP aimed to prepare the sector to take advantage of, and shape the new opportunities presented by agri-food systems transformation. Hosted by FAO’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, the Regional Knowledge Platform on OCOP is available to governments, farmer’s organizations, the scientific communities, the private sector and all those interested in Special Agricultural Products (SAPs), as a resource centre and a set of innovative tools for the exchange of experiences and specialised knowledge.

Objectives of the Launch Event

  •  Officially launch the FAO Regional Knowledge Platform on One Country One Priority Product” (OCOP).
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing on best practices on SAPs development connecting production, processing, marketing, trade and consumption.
  • Engage with FAO Members and diverse stakeholders in the region to cooperate, enrich and utilize the Regional Knowledge Platform on OCOP.
