Implementation of the Global Strategy in Asia Pacific
The implementation of the Global Strategy in Asia Pacific began in 2013 following the endorsement of the Regional Action Plan and the constitution of the Regional Steering Committee that serves as the decision-making governance mechanism in the region. This implementation is supported by a Regional Office established within the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, and is further complemented by partners in the region, namely the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific and the Asian Development Bank.
Implementation has since expanded to include fifteen countries in the region and continues to include additional countries annually towards a target of twenty countries by 2017. The countries where the Global Strategy is currently active in the region include:
