Read about our latest portal changes

The FAO Country Profiles team has just completed a new round of changes to the content-rich site: www.fao.org/countryprofiles. Most recent changes to the web site aim at enriching the content, enhancing the site design and improving its usability.

Listed below are the most recent additions:
1) The 'Select a country page' now offers both a drop-down box and also a list of countries by region;
2) A new web service ‘FAO members by region’ was added on the 'Geopolitical ontology web services' page;
3) The 'Inventory of data sources' page clearly distinguishes sources from: FAO data sources, Partnerships data sources and Non-FAO data sources;
4) A new left menu item entitled ‘Reference data’ was added. It includes links to country codes and names, geopolitical information, downloads and web services;
5) The Country codes/names page now displays the following fields: Country shortname, Official name, ISO3, ISO2, UN, UNDP, FAOSTAT and GAUL.
