From Foresight to Field: Exploring regional and multistakeholder perspectives to implement a foresight on emerging technologies and innovations in agrifood systems

This call is organized by the FAO’s Office of Innovation in the context of engaging various stakeholders to deepen an understanding of the potential pathways of the agrifood system transformation at regional level. The submission findings will contribute to the full foresight report, based on the synthesis report “Harvesting change: Harnessing emerging technologies and innovations for agrifood system transformation”, that will be featured during FAO’s multistakeholder workshop "FutureFood-I Lab in action: Cultivating Innovation for Agrifood Systems’ Transformation" (June 2024, Italy).

Sustainable agricultural development for food security and nutrition, including the role of livestock - E-consultation to set the track of the study

At its 41st session in October 2014, the CFS has requested the HLPE to prepare a study on Sustainable agricultural development for food security and nutrition, including the role of livestock, to feed into CFS debates at the CFS Plenary session of October 2016.

As part of its report elaboration process, the HLPE is launching an e-consultation to seek views and comments on the following scope and building blocks of the report, outlined below, as proposed by the HLPE Steering Committee. Part A will set the context, drivers and challenges. Part B, exploring pathways, will constitute the greater part of the report.

This online consultation is promoted by the Platform of Alliances against Hunger and Malnutrition in West Africa in collaboration with the FSN Forum in West Africa. The online discussion aims to start the debate on Ebola and food security and nutrition in West Africa in order to gather strategy proposals with the purpose of anticipating a generalized food and nutrition crisis in the next few months in West Africa.

HLPE consultation on the V0 draft of the Report: Water and Food Security

In October 2013, the Committee on World  Food Security requested the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE) to prepare a report on Water and Food Security. Final findings of the study will feed into CFS 42nd session in October 2015.

As part of the process of elaboration of its reports, the HLPE now seeks inputs, suggestions, comments on the present V0 draft. This e-consultation will be used by the HLPE to further elaborate the report, which will then be submitted to external expert review, before finalization and approval by the HLPE Steering Committee.
