17 March 2016, Rome--- A one-day El niño event "El Niño: Impacts and priorities for action" was organized today at FAO headquarters, in close collaboration with WFP, IFAD and OCHA. The meeting aimed at promoting a shared understanding of the impact of El Niño on food security, agriculture and other related sectors; reviewing current and planned responses and identifying gaps and priorities for action; as well as enabling early responses to and mitigation of future risks.
