UN agencies step up on gender equality to end hunger and poverty
8 March 2017, Rome--- Today is International women’s day for 2017! This year’s theme is Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50:50 by 2030. To mark the occasion, the UN’s Food and agriculture organization is hosting a Women’s Day event on behalf of the UN’s Rome based agencies. Particular emphasis is being placed on the key importance of rural women in the fight against hunger, malnutrition and rural poverty.
