Burkina wants to stop locust invasion (Octobre 01, 2004 Ouagadougou)
The locust invasion which hit the north of Burkina since the beginning of August 2004 has affected 21000 hectares of agriculture. The most affected areas include Soum and Oudalam provinces with the most infested of 5000 hectares already treated . It is reported that even if the situation is not so alarming, it remains worrying as the locusts are at the larval stage which pose new possible invasion.
