Web2forDev - ICTs for farmers' empowerment (25-27 Sept. 2007, Rome)
Networking, collaborating and exchanging knowledge in agriculture, rural development and natural resources management . Web2ForDev 2007 is the first conference devoted to exploring the ways in which international development stakeholders can take advantage of the technical and organizational opportunities provided by Web 2.0 methods, approaches and applications. The following radio interviews on "ICTs and Africa" were produced by Nkgowa Media (South Africa) for FAO and CTA, on the occasion of "Highway Africa Conference" (10 ? 1 2 September 2007, Grahamstown, South Africa).

SANGOnet is an Information Communication Technology NGO in Southern Africa that promotes and support ICT projects in the region. They are currently setting up Citizen Journalism project with the aim of promoting the use of Web 2.0 by rural communities on issues of development. SANGOnet ICT Services Manager, Matthew de Gale explains how they are planning to make this project to provide communities with necessary skills and opportunities to utilize Web 2.0 to improve their lives.
