Winning the fight against hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition
Political commitment and governance are key

22 April, 2013, Rome (FAO) -- Ministers and high-level government representatives from various countries including Angola, Ethiopia, Malawi and Niger, as well as the African Union (AU), discussed ways to promote food security and better nutrition in Africa. In the margin of the Hundred and Forty-sixth Session of the FAO Council (Rome, 22 - 26 April 2013), key actors from the African continent, those who play catalytic and leadership roles in their countries, shared their views on the factors underlying the progress and results that have been achieved in their countries.
The event is a preparatory session ahead of a high-level meeting on the same theme to be held in Addis Ababa from 30 June to 1 July.
