Investment Days: 16-17 December 2014
Over 180 FAO colleagues and partners came together for two days, including guests from International Financing Institutions (IFIs), the private sector and research institutions. The opening session took participants back half a century to the origins of FAO Investment Centre, when FAO and the World Bank launched a Cooperative Programme in 1964 − a partnership that continues today. The presentation then highlighted key milestones over the Centre’s 50-year history and its ability to form and sustain partnerships with national governments and various development organizations, such as the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the African Development Bank (AfDB). The celebratory session ended on a high note with a video timeline, followed by the distribution of a short publication FAO Investment Centre: An Overview (1964-2014).
