Unfinished agendas for forests and climate change (morning session)

Iran Room (FAO Headquarters)
20.07.2016
 Rome time

The Forest and Farm Facility, the FAO’s Forestry Department and regional partners are organizing an event to refocus our attention on the primary role that indigenous peoples, smallholder farmers and their organizations can play in the sustainable management of the world’s forests, particularly within the context of climate change.

Secure and enforced rights for these groups can help to ensure mitigation, improve adaptation and develop resilience at large scale.

Best practices as well as challenges for implementing climate change mechanisms will be discussed.
