Nearly 60% of child labour worldwide is found in agriculture, affecting 98 million girls and boys. Protracted crisis, fragile and humanitarian context intensify the severity and extent of child labour in agriculture.

This year the World Day against Child Labour is dedicated to the protection of children from child labour in conflicts and disasters. On this occasion, FAO will launch the pilot version of a Guidance note on Child Labour in Agriculture in Protracted Crises, Fragile and Humanitarian Contexts. The event will consist of a panel discussion composed of FAO and UNICEF staff.
