Road to UNGA - Preventing Famine and Fighting Food Insecurity

The world is facing a hunger crisis of alarming proportions in 2022, and we are at a critical crossroads. This event provides an opportunity, ahead of the UN General Assembly, to raise awareness of the shocking levels of acute food insecurity according to the Mid-year Update of the 2022 Global Report on Food Crises, discuss how we can tackle these crises and promote actions needed to immediately avert and prevent famine, and demonstrate the importance of collective action, drawing on the experience of Member States, UN organizations, NGOs, Civil Society and other key actors.
