World Soil Day Celebration “Keep soil alive, protect soil biodiversity”

Virtual Meeting
04.12.2020
 Rome time

World Soil Day is held annually on 5 December to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil. This year’s theme aims to raise awareness of the importance of the diversity of soil organisms for most terrestrial ecosystem services, including food production, water storage and purification, nutrient cycling, carbon sequestration and source of medicines.

This year observance will highlight how soil biodiversity can provide a natural solution to many of the problem's humanity faces today, from the field to the global scale, as well as efforts to conserve and protect it.
