The Institute of Ecology and Systematics, under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment of Cuba (CITMA), is an organization dedicated to research and development, production, scientific and technical services, and postgraduate training. It was founded in 1986 through the merger of the Institutes of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, and Experimental Biology of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
