FAO has launched an updated version of its Knowledge Sharing page, providing a more integrated and user-friendly gateway to its key knowledge platforms, including FAO AGRIS, AGROVOC, AGORA, KnowledgeLab and AIMS.
The new page aims to improve how users access, discover and engage with agricultural research and data, reinforcing FAO’s mandate to provide scientific knowledge systems to support informed decision-making worldwide.
By bringing these platforms together under a single, coherent framework, FAO enhances the accessibility, visibility and use of research outputs in food and agriculture, making information available to users across regions, languages and sectors. The initiative also contributes to FAO’s commitment to open science and equitable access to knowledge, particularly for users in low- and middle-income countries.
Improving access, visibility and usability
The redesigned page places usability at its core, offering a clearer structure that enables users including researchers, students, policymakers and practitioners to navigate the site more efficiently and find relevant resources more easily. These streamline access to reliable food and agricultural information.
Through FAO AGRIS, users can access a vast collection of agricultural research; AGROVOC supports multilingual discovery through standardized terminology; and AGORA provides access to scientific publications and information resources. Together, these three platforms ensure that agricultural knowledge is not only available, but also easy to find and use.
The page also strengthens FAO’s approach to knowledge sharing through capacity development. At the centre of this effort is FAO KnowledgeLab, an innovative learning environment that promotes the effective use of these platforms. Through tailored training and communities of practice such as the Agricultural Information Management Standards Portal (AIMS), users are supported in accessing, managing and contributing to knowledge systems.
This integrated approach improves access, visibility and usability of FAO’s knowledge resources, helping users connect information with practice particularly in contexts where access to scientific resources may be limited.
A step forward in FAO’s digital transformation
The launch of the updated Knowledge Sharing page forms part of FAO’s ongoing efforts to modernize its digital presence and improve user experience across its platforms. By offering a more intuitive interface and clearer structure, the page strengthens the connection between users and FAO’s knowledge resources, supporting more effective use of research and data for the transformation of the agrifood systems.
Users are invited to explore the updated page and discover how FAO’s Knowledge Sharing platforms led by the Partnerships Division support research, collaboration and evidence-based decision-making.
