The University of Havana in Cuba recently became a member of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) International System for Agricultural Science and Technology (AGRIS), marking a significant milestone in agricultural research.

Established in 1728, the University of Havana stands as one of Latin America's oldest and most esteemed academic institutions. Renowned for its diverse academic offerings and rich cultural heritage, the university plays a pivotal role in shaping Cuba's agricultural landscape and fostering innovation.

With its inclusion in AGRIS, the University of Havana joins over 35 active data providers in Cuba, contributing approximately 350 records across various domains, including coral reefs, fish, biodiversity, sea turtles, and reproduction.

The university's active involvement in agricultural research not only enhances the visibility of such endeavors in the region but also strengthens the availability of agricultural research content in Latin America through its participation in the AGRIS network.
