Virtual Business Roundtable for Agrifood Chains in Latin America and the Caribbean (13th edition)
Virtual Event, 01/06/2026 - 05/06/2026
Background
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in partnership with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA), and the Executive Secretariat of the Agricultural Council (SE-CAC), have developed an agenda to promote regional and international trade in the agri-food sector, aiming to contribute to food security with a focus on sustainability in the region.
In this context, the Virtual Business Roundtables for Agri-food Chains in Latin America and the Caribbean initiative was launched in 2020. To date, 12 editions of this business event have been held, with the participation of more than 6,000 MSMEs, cooperatives, family farms, and purchasing companies from the region, Europe, Asia, and the United States.
The results to date indicate that these meetings have generated business agreements totaling approximately USD 300 million, enabling participants to forge commercial ties and networks and gain access to new markets.
Each edition includes introductory seminars designed to enhance participants' skills in preparation for these business meetings.
The 13th Virtual Business Roundtable for Agri-food Chains in Latin America and the Caribbean will take place from June 1st to 5th, 2026, for companies in the agri-food sector. It will highlight food suppliers and buyers, as well as support services that facilitate production and marketing. As in previous editions, the Virtual Business Roundtable will be held in a free, digital environment.
This event will also include two preliminary seminars designed to strengthen the capacities of agri-food SMEs.
