19–30 October 2026, Yerevan, Armenia

The seventeenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) will be hosted by the Government of Armenia in Yerevan from 19 to 30 October 2026.

Bringing together representatives from 196 Parties to the CBD and a wide range of stakeholders, COP17 will mark the first global review of collective progress towards achieving the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), the global plan to halt and reverse biodiversity loss worldwide. As the midpoint between the Framework’s adoption in 2022 and its 2030 target deadline, this meeting represents a critical opportunity to assess collective progress, identify gaps, and accelerate action towards its goals and targets.

FAO supports its Members in advancing the objectives of the CBD, including the KMGBF. At COP17, the Organization will advocate for more efficient, inclusive, sustainable and resilient agrifood systems as an essential solution to the biodiversity crisis, in line with its Strategy on Mainstreaming Biodiversity across Agricultural Sectors and Action Plan 2024-2027
