AMR Conference

The Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union is organizing a conference in collaboration with the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Sciensano and the Federal Public Service on Public Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment (FPS HFCSE) from 6th to 8th May 2024 to discuss Antimicrobial Resistance perceived as one of the greatest challenges of our times.
The first two days of the conference will be an ECDC-Sciensano joint meeting on combatting healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance in a One World, One Health perspective. The third day of the conference will be a high-level meeting on antimicrobial resistance with a focus on the recent Council Recommendation on EU AMR Targets and the research and development of new antibiotics.
