FAO Brussels Director in Luxembourg: presenting FAO’s Activities and exploring future partnerships

Raschad Al-Khafaji, Director of the FAO Liaison Office in Brussels, paid a visit to Luxembourg to hold discussions with Pierre Treinen, Director-General at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Viticulture. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to exchange on matters of mutual interest and to present FAO's priorities and flagship initiatives aimed at transforming agrifood systems, to make them MORE efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agrifood systems. 

Together with representatives of LuxInnovation, potential avenues for cooperation and synergy were explored. 

During his visit Al-Khafaji also had the pleasure to join Luxembourg’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, H.E. Martine Hansen in inaugurating the 4th edition of the Farm in the City agricultural fair and to interact with young farmers including Charel Ferring, the President of the Luxembourg Young Farmers Association.  

Al-Khafaji also joined Rein Paulsen, the FAO Director of Emergency and Resilience in meetings with counterparts at the European Investment Bank (EIB).
